Sano Genetics aims to improve the outlook for the many thousands of people suffering from chronic diseases like multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s, and emerging diseases like Long Covid. Set up by Guzzo, who previously studied genomics, the healthtech startup has raised £3m in venture capital and offers people with specific and rare conditions the chance to contribute to research from their homes, improving the outlook for others living with the same diseases. Guzzo’s vision is to build long-term, human relationships, which she says is a vital step towards a vision of truly personalised medicine for all.
