HARRIET GWILT
Nonprofit Sector Lead, Esri UK
Gwilt works with UK-based charities in the humanitarian and conservation spaces, helping them to gain value from their spatial data and achieve their missions. They do this through the application of GIS - Geographic Information Systems - a framework for gathering, managing, and analysing data. A key part of Gwilt’s role is to demystify GIS, often seen as a complex technology, and show how it can be used as a problem-solving tool. Rooted in the science of geography, GIS integrates many types of data and analyses spatial locations, organising layers of data into visualisations using maps and 3D scenes. These visualisations identify trends, analyse situations, and help users make more informed decisions.
