MARY CHESUS

Chesus began her career in financial and economic research following a degree in economics and economic development from the University of California, Berkeley. She has been responsible for significant scientific breakthroughs, including the successful application of AI to breast cancer screening, and is a named author on the work’s research paper. Prior to joining DeepMind in 2017, she led the technical program management team at Waymo, which is focused on bringing the first self-driving car to public roads in the US. She also led project management for Google Cloud's Reliability team and served for two years on the Women@ Google steering group in Mountain View, California.
